MORE THAN A SPORTS PROGRAM FOR KIDS & TEENS
At First Tee, kids and teens are learning to play golf along with life lessons and leadership skills. And it’s making a difference. Our programs are having a positive impact on participants, their families and their communities.
What We Do
Since 1997, First Tee has introduced the game of golf and its inherent values to the more than seven million young people. On green grass facilities and in schools, we’ve helped shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by teaching them values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf. In addition to learning fundamentals of the golf swing and the game, our character education and life skills programs help young people prepare for success in high school, college and life.
First Tee of Northern Michigan offers programs available to youth ages 5-17. We start the younger youth in our Little Linksters program and at age 7 they then begin to work their way though The First Tee Life Skills Experience program. We offer in school and after-school programs through our National School Program and golf-to-school outreach programs. First Tee of Northern Michigan will never turn a child away to participate in any of our programs, if a child does not have the means to financially attend a program scholarships are available.
