First Tee – Northern Michigan offers a wide variety of classes and opportunities for students to learn valuable life lessons while enjoying the game of golf. Registration includes class fee and free use of golf equipment with scholarship opportunities readily available upon registration. Program Descriptions

PLAYer Certifying Classes

PLAYer is the first level in First Tee with classes open to children 7 and up. PLAYers will learn core values such as Honesty, Integrity, and Respect while working on golf skills and fundamentals.

PAR Certifying Classes

Par classes are the next step in First Tee curriculum which focuses on interpersonal communication and self management skills while working on fine tuning their golf game. Students will learn how to manage their time, emotions, and game on and off the course.

BirdiE Certifying Classes

Our next level in First Tee curriculum for students who have successfully completed PLAYer/PAR certification learn about goal-setting, working through conflicts, and planning for their futures on and off the golf course. This class also focuses on course management and refining golf skills.

Day Camps

Day Camps meet for one-week sessions and are open to ages 7+ and all ability levels.  Day camps focus on fundamental golf and life skills within the context of  First Tee 9 Core Value curriculum and offer multiple opportunities to play on the course.

Intro Camps

Intro camps meet for one-week sessions and introduce students to golf who are just starting to become interested or have never played. Intro Camps offer an overview of First Tee life skills along with basic golf skills such as, putting, chipping, and full-swing.

Girls Golf

LPGA*USGA Girls Golf is the only national junior golf program that specializes in providing girl-friendly environments for youth to learn the game of golf. This classes focuses on preparing girls ages 6 – 17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem and live active and healthy lives.

Little Linksters

Little Linksters classes meet once a week for four-week sessions and are designed for 5-8 years old who are new to the game of golf.  Basic fundamentals will be practiced while also introducing them to some of First Tee core values.  A fun way to get your little one interested in the game of golf.

Advanced Academy

Advanced Academy is for students who are looking to step up their golf game! Classes will be led by 2013 PGA Professional of the Year and First Tee Coach, Shaun Bezilla. This class will utilize technology to help keep Students and Coaches connected.  Goal setting, course management, short game and full swing will be covered.
