First Tee – Northern Michigan offers a wide variety of classes and opportunities for students to learn valuable life lessons while enjoying the game of golf. Registration includes class fee and free use of golf equipment with scholarship opportunities readily available upon registration. Day Camps meet for 4-day sessions and are open to ages 7–10-year-olds as well as 11 – 17-year-olds in different sessions. Day camps focus on fundamental golf and life skills within the context of First Tee Key Commitment curriculum and offer multiple opportunities to play on the course.
Intro camps meet for 4-day sessions and introduce students to golf who are just starting to become interested or have never played. Intro Camps offer an overview of First Tee Key Commitments along with basic golf skills such as, putting, chipping, and full-swing. Our goal will be to play at least one golf hole by the end of the week.
Girls Golf specializes in providing girl-friendly environments for youth to learn the game of golf. These classes focus on preparing girls ages 6 – 17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem and live active and healthy lives. We meet twice per week throughout the summer with some breaks in the middle for spending holidays with the family.
Little Linksters classes meet once a week for four-week sessions and are designed for 5-7 years old who are new to the game of golf. Basic fundamentals will be practiced while also introducing them to some of First Tee key commitments. A fun way to get your little one interested in the game of golf.
Advanced Academy is for students who are looking to step up their golf game! Classes will be led by 2013 PGA Professional of the Year and First Tee Coach, Shaun Bezilla as well as 2017 PGA Professional of the Year and First Tee Coach, Kevin McKinley. This class will utilize technology to help keep Students and Coaches connected. Goal setting, course management, short game and full swing will be covered.
